Today marks four years since I received the text message that ended my marriage. I’m celebrating – not the end of the marriage but the life and love that I have found since. I used to mark July as a disaster, now I can see it as a beginning.

  1. I am also hopeful to feel that way some time in the future. I’m 8 months in and waiting for that moment when it’s all a faint memory. Until then…I march on one day at a time! Kudos to you!

  2. Cheers! I agree, I feel like my “D-Day” was the beginning of something better. The end of “the horror” and the start of a new life, a new marriage, a new me. I am forever changed by that day. Stronger, wiser, vulnerable, honest and humbled.

  3. We mark all other occasions, marriage (weddings), births (christenings), deaths (funerals), academic achievements (graduations), milestones (birthdays). We do not mark divorce so there is often no closure on the old life and celebration of the new. It is great that you are celebrating your new life.
