I am now exactly one week away from the start of the school year. Last year at this point, I wasn’t doing very well. In fact, I was throwing a bit of a temper tantrum, singing the back to school blues.
And, I’m happy to report that I’m handling this much better this year. No crying. No pouting. And (dare I admit it?) even a little excitement to begin a new year.
Although, I am instituting a ban on all school-related work or thoughts for the next 7 days:)
Here’s to progress! Big and small:)
Here’s to a successful school year!!! I am happy to hear you are in a better place now than you were last year 🙂
Thanks! And me toooo!
I’m glad you’re excited. 😀 It’s amazing though living in the same country that our kids don’t go back until after Labor Day.
I know! We’re one of the first back. And we always get a huge influx of new kids (mainly from the NE) after Labor Day.
I know sometimes parents have to move at a certain time but it is so tough when kids are weeks behind when they transfer in. Good luck.
So true! I always feel badly for those kids. Often takes them until the spring to catch up.
Enjoy your last week until another school year kicks off, and may this year be one of great lessons learned for you and your students!
Thanks:)
Good luck! It seems so early though! Our school don’t go back til after Labor Day.
I agree! I’m used to starting at the beginning of August. It’s crept into July the past two years and that’s just not okay!
Does your school have air conditioning? Our kids would die in the NE heat and humidity.
Absolutely! It’s a must in the south. It’s not on yet, however, and my classroom was 90 degrees last week. And none of the windows open.
That’s good because most of our schools don’t and they shut down in June when it gets over 100 degrees here. Crazy. Amazing it’s the same country sometimes!
Wow!
I’m starting a new blog… Geared specifically for divorce and domestic violence etc…

Awesome! Thanks for sharing:)
Progress in little steps is what I’m learning it takes to keep moving forward. Hope you have a good 7 days before the start of the school year. Life is good!!!
