    That’s a wonderful attitude. Prepared, but not afraid to accept help. And hopefully ask for it when needed.

    This has been a persistent problem for me as someone with a disability. I am extremely independent, and yet there are many things I cannot do for myself. I do not know how to ask for help, and feel guilty when I receive it. This was one thing my wife used against me in my marriage in the exact way you describe. In the aftermath, I felt more dependent than ever before in my life. Thanks for sharing.
