  1. My work experience has taught me that there’s no more precious a gift than having a daughter who loves you so dearly !!

  2. I love this post. I lost my mother a few years ago but I laughed when you talked about wanting to separate from your mother, sort of become your own person, I was the same. Now I wish more than ever I could still be attached to her. Thank you for sharing this.

Thanks so much for sharing this. I love the idea of the photo collage as a way to link the generations of women in your family together.

A few years ago my older daughter and I were at a local arts festival. One artist’s work drew me in and then unlocked a torrent of tears; probably the first time that I just “let it all out” since my divorce. The following year my sweet girl struck up a conversation with that very artist and told him what had happened. He gave her a picture postcard of one of his works, which she had matted and framed for me for Christmas. It speaks very clearly of the matriarchal line. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
