In AA, we have a saying, “We will not regret the past nor wish to shut the door on it”. Simply meaning we know there is value there and it is worthy of a healthy reference back to it. While still not giving it too much weight nor bogging ourselves down in remorse of things that can never be changed. A healthy acceptance of what once was… and forward from there.
Aah…. now this is a better image. I can handle that. A board walk through a forest. Cannot see the direction clearly but a walk that is manageable, slowly step by step.
